Shopify App Privacy Policy — StockSight

This section applies specifically to the StockSight Shopify app and supplements the general website privacy policy above.

Data we access

To provide inventory analysis, StockSight connects to your Shopify store and requests read-only access to: products, collections, and inventory levels; order history (quantities and line items from the last 60 days); and store locations. Because Shopify's order data structure inherently includes customer contact information and checkout device details (such as name, email, geolocation, IP address, browser, and operating system), our app's permissions technically extend to this data as well.

How we actually use this data

StockSight only reads and processes aggregate, product-level sales quantities to calculate demand forecasts, sales volatility scores, and stock alerts. We do not access, view, extract, or store individual customer names, email addresses, phone numbers, shipping addresses, device information, IP addresses, or any other personally identifiable customer data, even where our declared permissions would technically allow it. We also do not access or store staff/contributor account information.

Data retention and deletion

Store data is retained only for as long as the app remains installed on your store, and is used solely to power the app's dashboard and reports within your Shopify admin. If you uninstall the app, we stop accessing your store data. In compliance with Shopify's data protection requirements, we support the standard customers/data_request, customers/redact, and shop/redact webhooks, allowing you or your customers to request data access or deletion at any time.

Third-party sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your store's product, inventory, or order data with any third party. Data is used exclusively to power the StockSight app's own analytics features.
